Calabar High School

"The Utmost for the Highest"

Swimming

Calabar was the first school to build a swimming pool and every Calabar boy learned to swim as an obligation. It was hardly surprising that when the Inter – Schools Swimming Competition started in 1934, that the first seven years (1934-1940) Calabar won the Shield which was donated by H.A.L Simpson, Major Mayor of Kingston.

In 2014:

Calabar re- entered the Mayberry Schools’ Swim meet after nineteen years and placed sixth (6th) in the competition.
